I have spent 29 years in cybersecurity, most of it as a CISO. I was the CISO at the FBI, GE Aerospace, L Brands, and CSC/DXC. I have run cyber security for a federal law enforcement agency, a global defense and industrial manufacturer, a major retailer, and a global services firm. Different industries, same underlying challenges in every one of them.

Here is what I learned across all of it. The companies that struggle with cyber are almost never short on tools, resources, or frameworks. They are short on the operating model that makes the tools, resources and frameworks to work effectively together. The program looks complete on paper but still does not reduce risk at the speed of business, because there is no layer that makes it all run together.

I started MitigateOne to install that layer for companies that need it. Not just the giants with unlimited budgets, but the companies in transition, the ones that depend on getting cyber risk right and cannot always afford a full-time executive who has done it at scale. That is the work. That is why the firm exists.
